THE BULL MOOSE: Governor Romney, Swat that WWASP already (11/22/2007)

November 22, 2007

Rarely does it happen but on this instance The Moose is amazed to see this story remaining below the radar screen of the mainstream media. It's amazing we have recently seen Mike Wallace pressing Romney to firmly disassociate himself from Robert Lichfield. Lichfield, who was Romney's chief fundraiser in the all important state of Utah otherwise known as Romney's second home state, is also the creator of a network of boarding schools for troubled teens that face a multitude of lawsuits for abusing teenagers.

Mr. Lichfield claims to have resigned from the Romney campaign, as if to have stepped out of the kitchen when the hot fit hit the shan. The campaign officially claims it asked Lichfield to cease participating in fundraising for the campaign until he is past the lawsuits he and WWASP faces. WWASP is the World Wide Association of Specialty Programs and Schools, the organization of abusive boarding schools created by Lichfield and his associates.

If Lichfield is expected to abstain from the campaign while facing the lawsuits, that suggests to The Moose that Romney will readily welcome, with open arms, the return of Lichfield to the campaign should he somehow overcome his legal problems. The Moose demands of Governor Romney, answer immediately, will you allow Lichfield to return if he's cleared on the legal issues? Do you really believe, Mr. Romney, that Lichfield has any chance of beating the lawsuits, and are you even the slightest bit aware of why Lichfield is being sued?

The Moose is more than willing to educate Governor Romney. As I'm sure the former governor's busy schedule won't afford him just five minutes to Google WWASP and find out for himself, I've done that for the governor. In fact, a quick visit to the first site that comes up on Google is sufficient research. Numerous articles and testimonials at the web site antiwwasp.com tell you all you need to know about these shady operations Lichfield and his cronies run. The WWASP schools are clearly high-priced prison-style reform school camps for troubled teenagers offering condition no sane person would allow their family pet to stay in let alone their teenage son or daughter. The programs are abusive to the students and the numerous reports of atrocities, which you can read on the web, have given rise to several class action suits. You don't have to believe The Moose, you can read for yourself at a variety of web sites including antiwwasp.com .

Having educated yourself on this issue Governor Romney, are you going to swat that WWASP and permanently disassociate yourself from Robert Lichfield?
